So, you want to get good at something. Really good. The good news is you can get good at anything if you put your mind and time into it.
The bad news is there is no shortcut to go from beginner to an expert. Simply put, you have to do the time. Yep, that's it. Sounds simple, but this is where most people fall down. They don't want to do the time. They don’t want to get their burn on and work hard.
In the book Culture Code Daniel Coyote writes, "How much better would you be if you practiced a skill every day for one or two years? Would you be ten times better? Twenty? Fifty?"
Think about your EAM skills - how good would you become at Infor EAM?
Take Mike Tyson as an example. Everyone who saw him box in his prime was amazed at his ability and the success he was having. Most boxers could not last even one round with him.
What we saw was this impressive pro boxer with incredible skill. What we didn't see was the amount of time he had to put into his craft to get there. When asked about what his life was like, he said, "I am just a hard-working fighter that lives a boring life as an individual. Everyone says, 'I wish I were in your shoes.' The hundreds of people that wish they were in my shoes don't know the tenth of it. If they were in my shoes, they would crumble. They couldn't handle it."
Nothing fancy. Nothing glamourous. Just hard work every day. And that is what it takes to get good at anything.
This year we have decided to re-invent our annual Connect conference due to the challenge COVID-19 has presented. The online event will take place during the week of May 4-8, and we will be streaming live presentations, providing prerecorded breakout sessions through our Connect Education Network, and holding live office hours Q&A sessions.
Our team, together with the Connect community, is working hard to ensure we have a fantastic virtual experience and provide you the forum to hone your Infor EAM skills. This online offering will help you put the time in to be great at Infor EAM.
Please join us this year to get your burn on with the #1 EAM community around!
Until next time…I’m Marty, make every minute count.
